Local Court guilty plea
$1,500 + GST
Wollongong, Kiama, Albion Park, Port Kembla and Nowra Local Courts.
NSW country courts: $2,500 + GST, plus travel disbursements if required.
Covers all work up to and including a full day in court.
Defended Local Court hearing
$4,500 + GST
Wollongong, Port Kembla, Albion Park and Kiama Local Courts, for less serious matters.
NSW country courts: $6,000 + GST, plus travel disbursements if required.
Covers a full day of hearing, including preparation and conferences, once a hearing date is set.
Driver licence appeal
$1,200 + GST
Appeals against a penalty notice or licence suspension in the Wollongong area.
Plus the Local Court filing fee.
Covers all work up to and including a full day in court.
What the fixed fees do not cover
Matters that need more than one day in court, or that involve complex legal issues, may attract further fees. We will discuss and agree any further fees with you in advance. Disbursements, such as the court filing fees and travel costs noted above, are charged separately.
Other matters
For family law, property, estates and commercial work, we will give you a written estimate of our fees at the start, as the law requires, and tell you promptly if the estimate changes. For conveyancing, ask us for a quote.
Free first conference
If you have a court date, your first conference is free. Your lawyer will tell you then which fixed fee applies to your case.
Legal aid
If you cannot afford a private lawyer, you may be eligible for legal aid. We are appointed to Legal Aid NSW panels. See legal aid.
